Did you know Santa Claus has arrived at the North Carolina Transportation Museum?
When my children were both much younger, I looked for ways for them to enjoy Santa Claus in a different environment than that of the mall. I found that the North Carolina Transportation Museum does something a little different. Santa and his elves ride the train with kids and their parents. He passes out candy and listens to each child’s wish list while everyone takes a short trip on the train.
My son was in love with trains from the time he was two years old till he was about eight so he absolutely loved this annual event!
In addition to the Santa Train is Cookies and Cocoa with Santa which occurs in the evening and provides children with a more one-on-one experience with Santa and his elves.
The North Carolina Transportation Museum is located in Spencer, NC which is 15 minutes North of Salisbury. You can enjoy the museum year round and during certain times of the year you can enjoy special events such as Train Excursions. Recently, the excursion visited Toccoa, GA and Roanoke, VA. Children may also enjoy experience Thomas the Train.
Whether you are there to visit with Santa or experience the wonder of the museum itself, be sure to bring your camera as you will want to document each and every moment. I know I did!
What other unique places have you taken your children to experience Santa?
